Ohio Citizens for the Arts expresses its gratitude to the General Assembly and Governor for the continued support of arts and culture in Ohio. We specifically want to thank Governor John R. Kasich and we applaud his confidence in the arts and appreciate him giving us a great starting point in the budget process.

In the House of Representatives we want to express our appreciation to the leadership, Speaker William Batchelder (R, Medina), then Minority Leader Armond Budish (D, Beachwoor), current Minority Leader Tracy Heard (D, Columbus), Finance and Appropriation Chair Ron Amstutz (R, Wooster), and Subcommittee on Higher Education Chair, Cliff Rosenberger (R, Clarksville).  In the Ohio Senate our gratitude is especially extended to President Keith Faber (R, Celina), Minority Leader Eric Kearney (D, Cincinnati), Finance Chair Scott Oelslager (R, North Canton), and Subcommittee on Education Chair Randy Gardner (R, Bowling Green). It is through the outstanding leadership of these members and members of their committees, and the entire General Assembly, that a significant increase to arts and culture will be to the benefit of all Ohioans in the coming biennium that begins on July 1st!

As we conclude a successful budget process we have one final request.  Please be in personal contact with your House and Senate members, as well as the Governor, to express your appreciation for the increased funding for arts and culture through the Ohio Arts Council.

And finally, once again, we thank you.  Thank you for supporting our efforts at Ohio Citizens for the Arts to increase public funding and make a positive difference in Ohio’s economy, cultural vitality, and quality of life!  THANK YOU!
